Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), February 9 A local court here granted bail to a senior YSRCP leader and former minister, Ambati Rambabu, in a case involving alleged derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister, but ordered him to remain in custody in another, older case.
Rambabu was arrested on January 31, following his alleged derogatory remarks against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
"Yes, so he (Rambabu) received bail in one case. He was arrested on the 31st (January). He will still be in jail because he was ordered to remain in custody in another case today," an official told PTI.
According to the official, the court granted bail to Rambabu in the case related to his alleged disparaging remarks against the TDP supremo.
However, Rambabu has been in custody in connection with the Pattabhipuram police station case from November, in which he is alleged to have abused and pushed an inspector and other police officers, and also obstructed traffic during a protest, the official added.
