Real Kashmir Extend Home Dominance, Namdhari FC Reclaim I-League Top Spot

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) – Real Kashmir FC continued their impressive home form with a solid 2-0 victory over Shillong Lajong FC in Srinagar, while Namdhari FC surged back to the summit of the I-League standings after a composed 2-0 win over Delhi FC on Sunday.

Real Kashmir’s Fortress Remains Unbreached

The Snow Leopards extended their unbeaten run at home, with Aminou Bouba breaking the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, heading in a well-directed long throw-in for his third goal of the season.

Shillong Lajong attempted to mount a comeback but found themselves frustrated by Real Kashmir’s resolute defense. The hosts put the result beyond doubt in the 88th minute, as Kamal Issah sprinted past defenders to slot home a perfectly timed pass from Mohammed Aqib.

The victory propelled Real Kashmir to fourth place with 19 points from 12 matches, while Lajong stayed seventh with 16 points.

Namdhari FC Back on Top

Over in Mahilpur, Punjab, Namdhari FC delivered a professional display to defeat Delhi FC 2-0 and reclaim the top spot in the league.

After a shaky start, Bhupinder Singh put Namdhari ahead in the 30th minute, finishing off a low cross from Jaskaranpreet Singh. The goal turned the tide in Namdhari’s favor as they took control of the contest.

Early in the second half, Brazilian forward Cledson Carvalho Dasilva secured the win with his eighth goal of the season, guiding in a precise cross from Bhupinder in the 52nd minute.

With 24 points from 12 matches, Namdhari sit at the top of the table, though Churchill Brothers have an opportunity to overtake them in their upcoming fixture.

Meanwhile, Delhi FC’s struggles continue as they remain in 11th place with just nine points, leaving them in a precarious position.
