
Nagpur, February 13 An employee at the additional tehsil office in Umred, Nagpur, was arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe, a Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau official said on Friday.
Revenue Assistant Vijay Bhagwanji Shadmake allegedly demanded Rs 3,000 from a man who wanted to correct names in the 7/12 land document, he said.
"He took Rs 2,000 and then started demanding the remaining Rs 1,000. The man approached the ACB, which set up a trap. Shadmake was caught in the act of accepting the remaining amount. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at the Bela police station. Further investigation is underway," the official said.
