The Indian Army's Romeo Force 6 Sector organized the Pir Panjal Winter Festival 2026 in Poonch, providing a vibrant platform for local youth to showcase their talents while promoting sportsmanship, cultural heritage, and community bonding. Officials said the festival was organized with the twin objectives of encouraging youth participation in constructive activities and strengthening the bond between the Army and the local population. The well-structured event witnessed enthusiastic participation and aimed at fostering community engagement while promoting winter tourism in the Pir Panjal region. The festival features a wide range of sports, cultural, and literary activities, including cricket and volleyball tournaments for boys and girls, along with a kho-kho tournament for girls. Cultural programs such as folk dance performances added colour to the event, highlighting the rich traditions of the region. In addition, literary and creative competitions, including essay writing, debates, painting, and singing contests, were organized to encourage intellectual and artistic expression among the youth. A special attraction of the festival will be a live performance by renowned artist Kabul Bukhari, scheduled to be held on February 16, 2026, at Surankote. The Pir Panjal Winter Festival has been widely appreciated for creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, nurturing local talent, and reinforcing harmony and cooperation between the security forces and the civilian population.
