Ayodhya (UP), Feb 2 (PTI) – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fierce attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), labeling it as "anti-Sanatan" and accusing it of siding with "Ghazi" and "Paaji" instead of upholding nationalism and social justice.
Speaking at a public rally in Milkipur, held to support BJP candidate Chandrabhan Paswan for the upcoming assembly bypoll, Adityanath framed the election as a battle between nationalism and dynastic politics.
Adityanath Accuses SP of Opposing Sanatan Dharma
The chief minister accused the Samajwadi Party of consistently opposing Sanatan Dharma and embracing anti-India elements and criminals. He particularly criticized SP’s stance on Maharaja Suheldev's memorial in Bahraich, stating:"This is the same Samajwadi Party that opposed Maharaja Suheldev's memorial and instead promoted Ghazi (Saiyyad Salar Masud). They only love Ghazi and Paaji (vile people)," he remarked.
Maharaja Suheldev, revered among the Rajbhar community, is known for his historic victory over the Ghaznavid general, Ghazi Saiyyad Salar Masud, in 1033 at Chittora Lake, Bahraich.
SP Leaders Accused in Criminal Cases
Taking aim at SP leaders, Adityanath brought up criminal allegations against Moeed Khan (accused in a rape case in Pura Qalandar, Ayodhya) and Nawab Singh Yadav (accused of molesting a teenager in Kannauj)."They (SP) support criminals like Moeed Khan and Nawab Singh Yadav. Every major crime seems to have an SP connection," he alleged.
Dalit Girl’s Death in Ayodhya – CM Alleges SP Involvement
Addressing the recent recovery of a Dalit girl's body in Ayodhya, the chief minister hinted at a potential Samajwadi Party link, stating:"Mark my words, when the investigation reaches its depths, the culprits will have an SP connection."
'SP Can Never Change' – Yogi Adityanath
Further intensifying his criticism, Adityanath likened SP to a crooked tail that can never be straightened, accusing its members of being habitual criminals and land-grabbers."Their slogan was always, 'Samajwadis’ slogan is—any empty plot is ours' (khaali plot hamara hai). Their governance style revolves around mafia and miscreants," he said.
SP Opposing Maha Kumbh and Ram Mandir, Says CM
Adityanath accused SP chief Akhilesh Yadav of opposing the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, calling it the biggest spiritual and cultural event of the century."People from around the world are coming to Maha Kumbh and feeling honored, but the SP is troubled by it," he stated.
He also alleged that SP consistently opposed the development of Ayodhya, including:
- Ram Mandir foundation stone laying
- Consecration of Ram Lalla
- Infrastructure and compensation for road expansion
SP Opposed Women’s Empowerment and Babasaheb Ambedkar
Adityanath also accused the Samajwadi Party of undermining women's empowerment, recalling that SP had opposed the formation of three women battalions in the PAC in honor of Veerangana Uda Devi, Jhalkari Bai, and Avantibai Lodhi, all historical figures in India's freedom struggle.Additionally, he accused Akhilesh Yadav’s government of attempting to erase Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s legacy, stating:
"When Akhilesh was CM, he removed Babasaheb Ambedkar's name from Kannauj Medical College. We restored it after coming to power."
Milkipur Bypoll: A Fight Between Nationalism and Nepotism
Calling the Milkipur bypoll a decisive contest between nationalism and nepotism, Adityanath claimed the SP only works for the benefit of one family and remains anti-development."Their politics begin and end in Saifai (Yadav family's hometown). When they come to power, they appoint only their relatives to key positions," he alleged.
BJP Seeks Victory in Milkipur After 2022 Defeat
The Milkipur assembly seat fell vacant after Awadhesh Prasad (SP) resigned upon winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Faizabad.In the 2022 elections, SP's Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP's Gorakhnath, while BJP won all other assembly seats in the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency.
Concluding his speech, Adityanath urged voters to support Chandrabhan Paswan, promising holistic developmentfor Milkipur in line with Ayodhya’s transformation.
