Girona (Spain), May 10 — Indian golfer Saptak Talwar delivered a flawless bogey-free round of five-under 66 on Friday, boosting his chances of a top-10 finish at the Challenge de Espana, held at Fontanals Golf Club as part of the Hotel Planner Tour.

Consistent Form from Rising Indian Golfer
The 26-year-old Talwar has been enjoying a strong run of form in 2024. He notched his maiden win on the Indian Tour last month and followed it with a runner-up finish in another domestic event. His consistency is also evident on the Hotel Planner Tour — the feeder circuit to the DP World Tour — where he has made four cuts in five starts this season. He also made the weekend at the prestigious Hero Indian Open.Talwar’s second round was highlighted by two key stretches of back-to-back birdies — on holes 3 and 4, and again on 8 and 9 — followed by a fifth birdie on the 10th. While he didn’t find more birdies thereafter, he maintained his clean card with solid par-saving efforts throughout the rest of the round.
Tight Leaderboard Heading into the Weekend
Gillberg and Masaveu head into the weekend with a narrow one-shot lead over Denmark’s Victor Sidal Svendsen, France’s Clement Charmasson, and Scotland’s Euan Walker, all tied for third at 10-under.Luis Masaveu, who earned his spot on the Tour through the 2024 Global Amateur Pathway Rankings, kept up his momentum with a four-under 67 in the second round. Meanwhile, England’s Joshua Berry holds sixth place at nine-under.
As the tournament enters the weekend rounds, Talwar remains well within striking distance, setting the stage for a thrilling finish.
