Girona (Spain), May 12 — Indian golfer Saptak Talwar closed out the Challenge de España with a steady final round of 2-under 69 to finish tied for 39th place at the Fontanals Golf Club Championship.

Talwar, who impressed early in the tournament with rounds of 69 and 66, found himself in the Top 15 midway through the event. However, a third-round 73 saw him slip down the leaderboard. He wrapped up his campaign with another 69 on Sunday to end the week at 7-under par.

Starting from the back nine in the final round, Talwar carded two birdies and one bogey on both halves of the course, maintaining a composed finish to his outing.

Clement Charmasson Claims Maiden Tour Title

The tournament was won by French golfer Clement Charmasson, who displayed resilience under pressure to secure his first-ever Hotel Planner Tour victory. Charmasson posted a final-round 69, adding to his scores of 65, 67, and 66 to finish at 17-under par, one shot clear of Denmark’s Victor Sidal Svendsen.

Charmasson had built a four-shot lead with five holes to play, but a tense finish saw his advantage cut to just one. Nevertheless, he held firm to claim a memorable win from friends and family.

Strong Performances from European Contenders

Spaniard Luis Masaveu and Scotsman Euan Walker shared third place at 15-under par. Meanwhile, German Anton Albers delivered the standout round of the tournament with a sizzling 10-under 61 on the final day, finishing in a tie for fifth alongside compatriot Hurly Long and Switzerland’s Benjamin Rusch.

The Challenge de España offered intense competition and thrilling performances, setting the tone for the remainder of the Hotel Planner Tour season.
