Board Approves Leadership Transition Effective May 10, 2025
New Delhi, May 10 — NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a subsidiary of India’s largest power utility, has announced the appointment of Sarit Maheshwari as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.In a regulatory filing submitted on Saturday, the company’s board of directors approved the cessation of Rajiv Gupta as CEO and Key Managerial Personnel with effect from May 10, 2025. The decision was formalized during a board meeting held the same day.
Maheshwari brings with him 35 years of experience in the power sector, having previously held key leadership roles within NTPC. Most recently, he served as the Head of Project Korba, one of NTPC’s major operational sites, where he was instrumental in driving performance and project efficiency.
The company has expressed confidence that under Maheshwari’s leadership, NTPC Green Energy will continue to expand its footprint in the renewable energy space and accelerate India’s clean energy transition.
The appointment marks a significant step for NGEL as it aligns its strategic focus with national energy goals and sustainable development objectives.
