Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid floral tributes to Sarojini Naidu on her birth anniversary in New Delhi today. In a social media post, Mr. Birla said that Sarojini Naidu's contribution to the golden chapters of nation-building is truly unique. The Speaker stated that the freedom fighter not only gave voice to the freedom movement with her powerful oratory and stream of poetry, but also placed women's power at the very centre of national consciousness, infusing the mass movement with fresh energy. Mr. Birla noted that Sarojini Naidu's life stands as a radiant symbol of the self-confidence and leadership of Indian womanhood. He added that her exemplary personality continues to inspire crores of citizens of the country to march forward on the path of national service, equality, and self-respect. Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, also paid tributes to Sarojini Naidu.
