Search intensified in forest areas following a local tip-off
Jammu, May 17 — Security forces launched an extensive search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Saturday following reports of the movement of three suspected terrorists near a forest area, officials said.Acting on information provided by local residents, a joint team comprising police and paramilitary personnel initiated the operation in the early hours. The team cordoned off the areas of Nangal, Chilladanga, Goran, and nearby forest regions to conduct a thorough search.
According to officials, the suspicious movement was observed during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Villagers promptly alerted the police, triggering a swift response from security agencies.
No trace of the suspects has been found as of now. However, the operation remains ongoing, and the region is in a heightened state of alert. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity to help ensure public safety.
