Security Measures Increase: Restrictions Imposed in Kathua Border Zone.webp

In Jammu and Kashmir, unauthorized movement within 5 km of the International Border in the Kathua district has been banned due to the sensitive security situation along the India-Pakistan border. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that Kathua District Magistrate, Rajesh Sharma, has issued strict orders imposing restrictions on movement in the border area of the district. According to the order, there is a possibility of cross-border firing at any time in the border areas. To ensure the safety of residents and to prevent anti-social activities, the administration has enforced precautionary restrictions. As per the directive, unauthorized movement within a five-kilometer radius of the International Border has been prohibited. The restricted zone extends from Border Out Post (BOP), Paharpur Forward to Border Out Post, Karol Krishna. In addition, the movement of heavy vehicles, including trucks, tippers, and multi-axle vehicles, has also been completely banned on the old Samba-Kathua road between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. The order will come into effect from today and will remain in force for 60 days or until it is withdrawn by the administration. Any violation of the order will invite punitive action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
