Thane, May 18 — In a significant crackdown on human trafficking, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of Thane Police busted a sex racket operating out of a restaurant in Bhiwandi's Rajnoli village. The raid, conducted on Friday, led to the arrest of three individuals, including two women, and the rescue of four victims, one of whom is a minor.

Senior Inspector Chetna Chowdhary of the AHTC confirmed the arrests and the rescue operation. "Three persons, including two women, were arrested, while four individuals were rescued. One among them is a minor," she said. The rescued victims have been relocated to the Shanti Van women's correctional home in Ulhasnagar for rehabilitation and support.

Authorities have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, highlighting the serious nature of the offences.

The investigation is ongoing as officials seek to uncover more details about the network behind the operation.
