Shaheed Bhagat Singh College Urges Students, Staff to Promote VC’s Support for Armed Forces on X

Delhi University Principal Encourages Community to Amplify Patriotic Messages

New Delhi, May 14—Delhi University's Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has issued a directive urging all students, faculty, and staff to follow and actively engage with Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh's official X (formerly Twitter) account, particularly in support of posts highlighting the Indian Armed Forces.

In a formal notice dated May 12, signed by Principal Arun Kumar Attree, the administration called upon the college community to “retweet the posts shared through the platform” by the Vice Chancellor as a mark of gratitude and solidarity with the country's defence personnel.

"By amplifying these messages, we not only raise awareness about their courage and sacrifices but also contribute to building a strong sense of national pride and unity within our community," the notice read.
Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh launched his official X account earlier this month, with his first post dated May 8. One of his notable posts on May 12 referenced Operation Sindoor, a military action taken by India following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

In that post, Singh stated in Hindi that Indian forces had "destroyed Pakistani terrorist bases and neutralised more than 100 terrorists, including the hijackers of IC814 and the Pulwama terrorists." He emphasized that the government and armed forces prioritize national interest over publicity.

The post concluded with lines from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's iconic Hindi poem Parshuram Ki Pratiksha, appealing for unity and continued support for the armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The college's directive aligns with a broader sentiment of national solidarity, encouraging educational institutions to foster patriotic values among youth actively.
