India Sends Strong Message of Unity and Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism​

New Delhi, May 17 – Congress MP and Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs Chairman Shashi Tharoor has accepted the government’s invitation to lead one of the seven all-party delegations tasked with presenting India’s resolute stance against terrorism in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack.
Expressing his commitment, Tharoor stated on social media platform X, “When national interest is involved and my services are required, I will not be found wanting. Jai Hind!” He said he was honoured to lead a delegation to five strategic global capitals to articulate India’s viewpoint on recent security developments.

Government's Strategic Outreach Post-Operation Sindoor​

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs confirmed that seven delegations will visit key partner nations, including UN Security Council members, later this month. The initiative is part of India’s diplomatic outreach to reinforce its message of zero tolerance against terrorism.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, in a post on X, emphasized the significance of bipartisan unity in these critical times. “In moments that matter most, Bharat stands united... a powerful reflection of national unity above politics, beyond differences.”

The government has carefully chosen representatives from both the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition INDIA bloc, acknowledging their ability to effectively communicate India’s message on the international stage.

Delegations to Include Diplomats​

Each team will include experienced diplomats to support the outreach, and may cover around five nations each. These visits aim to reaffirm India’s collective stand against cross-border terrorism and mobilize international consensus.
The government’s statement underlined that these delegations would “project India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all forms and manifestations.”
