Shillong Restaurant Employee Arrested for Allegedly Killing Female Colleague

A tragic incident unfolded in Shillong, Meghalaya, when a 42-year-old restaurant employee was arrested for allegedly murdering his 41-year-old female colleague following an argument on Thursday night. The crime occurred at a restaurant located in the Lachumiere area, according to police reports.

East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem, confirmed the arrest, stating that the accused confessed to committing the murder during preliminary interrogation. Authorities have recovered the murder weapon—a hollow iron pipe—from the crime scene.

The victim's body has been transported to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) for a post-mortem examination.

The police identified the suspect based on substantial evidence and prompt investigative efforts, leading to his quick apprehension. Investigation into the incident continues as police explore further details of the case.
