Mumbai, May 12 – Rising chess talent Shraddha Naresh Padvekar stunned top-seeded Daksh Jagesia with a strategic victory in the third round of the All India Chess Masters FIDE Rating Championship, held in Mumbai on Monday.
Padvekar, continuing her impressive form, credited her bold decision to stray from her regular opening repertoire as a key factor in the match. “I played a different opening than usual, and after a few strategic moves, I managed to gain a plus position and secure a very important win,” she said in a post-match release.
This win marks a significant milestone in her budding career, coming on the heels of her notable draw against a Woman Candidate Master in a FIDE-rated event last year.
