Dubai, February 26 – India’s star opener Shubman Gill has further solidified his position as the top-ranked ODI batter in the latest ICC ODI Batting Rankings, following his crucial performances in the Champions Trophy 2025. His match-winning 101 not out against Bangladesh and a steady 46 against Pakistan have earned him 21 additional rating points, pushing his tally to 817 points. This has widened the gap between him and second-placed Babar Azamfrom 23 to 47 points.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has made significant progress in the rankings. His unbeaten 100 against Pakistan has propelled him to fifth place, overtaking New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell. KL Rahul has also improved his position, moving up two places to 15th, after his unbeaten 41 against Bangladesh.
Among other notable gainers, New Zealand’s Will Young has climbed eight spots to 14th, while Tom Latham has surged 11 places to 30th after scoring centuries against Pakistan. Rachin Ravindra, with his ton against Bangladesh, has leaped 18 places to 24th, and Glenn Phillips has gained 12 places to reach 28th.
From Australia, Alex Carey and Josh Inglis have improved their standings, moving up four places to 50th and 18 places to 81st, respectively. Bangladesh’s Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali have also made notable jumps, ranking 64th and 94th, respectively.
