Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated SKUAST-K’s “Gangul-2026” exhibition in Srinagar, highlighting innovation to strengthen farmers’ incomes.
February 14, Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the 11th Technology Exhibition “Gangul-2026” at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir in Srinagar on Friday.
The three-day exhibition, themed "My Produce My Price," aims to empower farmers, agri-entrepreneurs, and youth by promoting modern farming practices, innovation, and improved market access.
The event is being attended by Agriculture Minister Javed Dar and Health and Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Abdullah lauded SKUAST-K for its continued research and innovation in the agriculture sector. He said such initiatives would strengthen sustainable agri-entrepreneurship, boost the rural economy, and enhance farmers' livelihoods across Jammu and Kashmir.
The exhibition features a range of attractions, including a Smart Farming Show, Fruit Show, Startup Show, Art and Craft Show, Seed Show, Vegetable Show, Organic Farming Show, and a food carnival, along with several interactive and informational displays.
More than 400 stalls representing farmers, startups, agri-companies, research institutions, and self-help groups are participating in the event. Organizers expect a footfall of 400,000 to 500,000 visitors over three days, making it one of the largest agricultural technology showcases in the region.
The exhibition is designed as a platform for knowledge-sharing, technology transfer, and promoting value addition in agriculture and allied sectors, officials said.
