
In Jammu and Kashmir, the Doda district administration, in collaboration with the 4th Rashtriya Rifles regiment of the army and the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), will be organizing the "Snow Marathon – Run for Martyrs" on February 16. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the Snow Marathon aims to pay tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, promoting a spirit of patriotism and unity among participants. The event has the theme "Feel the Snow, Feel the Pride" and encourages citizens to participate in the run to honour and celebrate patriotism. The Snow Marathon will cover a distance of 5 kilometers. The race will start from the Chinta area of Bhaderwah at 9 AM and conclude at Jai Ghati. Registration for the marathon is open to all. Participants will be awarded medals and certificates, and attractive prizes have also been announced. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, chaired a review meeting on Thursday to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming event. He reviewed arrangements including security, medical facilities, route management, snow clearance, and coordination among departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The ADC emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to make the Snow Marathon a grand success and a memorable tribute to the nation's heroes.
