New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – In a major step towards expanding its renewable energy capabilities, Solex Energy on Monday announced the commissioning of a new 800 MW production line dedicated to manufacturing TOPcon rectangular cell-based solar modules.

This development aligns with the company’s ambitious ‘Vision 2030’ plan, which aims to escalate its production capacity from the current 1.5 gigawatts (GW) to a massive 15 GW. The expansion will be backed by an investment of ₹8,000 crore, according to a company statement.

The newly launched production line will focus on producing high-efficiency N-Type TOPcon rectangular cell-based modules, known for their superior performance. The statement further highlighted that technologies such as TOPcon and Heterojunction (HJT) offer higher efficiency compared to the widely used Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) technology.

With this expansion, Solex Energy strengthens its position in the solar energy sector, contributing to India's growing renewable energy ambitions.
