Speculator Activity Drives Guar Gum Futures Up.webp

New Delhi, February 16 Guar gum prices rose by Rs 37 to Rs 9,900 per quintal on Monday in futures trading, as speculators increased their holdings amid strong spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for February delivery traded higher by Rs 37 or 0.38 per cent at Rs 9,900 per quintal with an open interest of 5,940 lots.

The March contract also went up by Rs 13, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 10,015 per quintal in 57,585 lots. It had closed at Rs 10,002 per quintal in the previous session.

Analysts said that following a firm trend in the physical market, traders increased their bets, which led to the rise in guar gum prices.
