Deer succumbs to injuries after attack near student hostel
Hyderabad, April 4 – A spotted deer was killed after reportedly being attacked by stray dogs on the University of Hyderabad (UoH) campus on Friday, according to university officials. The incident took place near a hostel located in the South campus area. University authorities said the deer was mauled by a pack of stray dogs, sustaining severe injuries in the process.
Security personnel, along with a few students, attempted to rescue the injured animal and rushed it to a nearby veterinary hospital. However, the deer was declared brought dead upon arrival. Officials confirmed visible dog bite marks on the body of the animal.
A university source noted that such incidents tend to occur during the summer months, as deer often wander closer to buildings in search of water and food. This makes them vulnerable to attacks by stray dogs present on the campus.
The university is yet to release an official statement regarding preventive measures or actions to address the recurring threat posed by stray animals on campus.
