
A fire incident at the Tengpora Bypass in Srinagar was quickly brought under control by the Fire Emergency Services, preventing major damage and reporting no casualties. An investigation has been initiated today.
February 15, Srinagar: A fire incident was reported at the Tengpora Bypass in Srinagar on Saturday. The State Fire Control Room received a call at approximately 5:51 pm, prompting immediate dispatch of fire tenders from the headquarters to the location.
Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered that a warehouse storing window frames, door frames, windows, and doors had caught fire. The flames had engulfed the stored materials, posing a serious threat to nearby structures in the area.
Firefighting operations were launched simultaneously, and after sustained efforts, the blaze was successfully brought under control by the Fire and Emergency Services. The timely action by the fire personnel prevented the fire from spreading further.
In the incident, the stored windows, doors, and door frames were completely damaged due to the flames. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported.
The firefighting operation was carried out under the supervision of Alok Kumar, ADGP, J&K Fire and Emergency Services. On the ground, the operation was led by the DFO City along with Mobilising Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire. Fire officials have confirmed that the situation is under control.
