MeT Forecast Predicts Mostly Dry Weather Across J&K Till February 24

The Meteorological Department in Srinagar has issued a detailed forecast indicating generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir until February 24, with only brief cloudy periods and isolated light rain or snow at higher elevations.

February 12, Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecast overall dry weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir until February 24, with no major rainfall or snowfall expected during this period.

According to the forecast, February 12 is expected to be generally dry. On February 13, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy with a possibility of light snowfall in isolated higher areas.

From February 14 to 16, the weather is predicted to remain generally dry until the evening of February 16, with a possibility of light snowfall in isolated higher areas towards the night of February 16. On February 17, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy with light rain or snow in isolated locations.

The period from February 18 to 21 is likely to experience generally dry weather, while from February 22 to 24, conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy across the Union Territory.

In an advisory, the MeT Department has urged travelers and transporters to confirm road and highway conditions from the relevant traffic authorities and strictly follow administrative advisories. People living in snow-prone higher areas have been advised not to venture into areas with steep slopes and avalanche risks.
