Srinagar, February 10 Authorities in the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir have revoked the driving licenses of 73 individuals and impounded 56 vehicles allegedly involved in cases related to narcotics.

"Taking firm action against offenders, the driving licenses of 73 individuals accused in narcotics cases have been revoked. In addition, the Regional Transport Office, Kashmir, has impounded 56 vehicles under the NDPS Act," an official spokesperson said after a Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) meeting here on Tuesday.

The NCORD meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo and attended by SSP Sandeep Chakravarthy, among others.

A comprehensive review of inter-agency coordination to combat drug abuse was carried out, including the identification of drug hotspots, the confiscation of vehicles under the NDPS Act, and ongoing IEC activities to raise awareness among youth about the illicit effects of narcotics, particularly in educational institutions.
