Assam Police have apprehended and deported 16 Bangladeshi nationals. On Wednesday morning, police detained 16 individuals suspected of illegal entry and sent them back to Bangladesh. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared this information on social media.
He also alleged that the previous opposition government had encouraged illegal immigration for political gain, allowing unauthorized individuals to settle in Assam.
Security forces have been vigilant in the state and have prevented attempts at illegal entry.
