STL Completes Demerger; Launches STL Networks as 'Invenia' to Accelerate Strategic Growth

STL Networks emerges as a specialised entity driving digital infrastructure solutions globally under the brand 'Invenia.'

MUMBAI, India, April 1, 2025 – STL (NSE: STLTECH), a global leader in optical and digital solutions, has successfully completed the strategic demerger of its Global Services Business, creating a dedicated entity named STL Networks. The newly formed business, under the brand name 'Invenia', is set to enhance digital transformation initiatives through state-of-the-art system integration services and innovative digital solutions.

STL Networks Poised for Independent Growth

The establishment of STL Networks represents a significant strategic milestone, dividing Sterlite Technologies' businesses into two focused and agile entities capable of accelerating their growth independently. With deep expertise in building IT infrastructure-led digital ecosystems, STL Networks has consistently delivered substantial value to clients across India and the UK, significantly contributing to India's rapid digital evolution.

To date, STL Networks has laid over 1.35 lakh kilometers of optical fibre network across 23 Indian states, solidifying its position as a trusted partner in critical connectivity and infrastructure solutions. The recently awarded INR ~2600 crore Bharatnet project in Jammu and Kashmir will also fall under STL Networks following this transition.

Enhanced Focus on Core Business Areas and Profitability

The demerger aligns with STL’s long-term strategy to distinctly specialise its businesses, allowing each entity—STL and STL Networks—to pursue their targeted customer segments more effectively. The separation is expected to boost profitability, improve operational efficiency, and create clearer investment opportunities for shareholders and strategic partners interested specifically in digital infrastructure services.

Both businesses will operate under dedicated, experienced leadership teams. Rahul Puri will head STL's Optical Networking Business as CEO, while Pankaj Malik takes on the role of CEO at STL Networks.

STL’s Continued Leadership in Optical Innovation

Post-demerger, STL will remain committed to its global leadership in Optical Networking, Optical Connectivity, Data Centres, and Enterprise Solutions. Leveraging its extensive global footprint, with over 10 manufacturing plants and customers across more than 100 countries, STL aims to drive innovation through cutting-edge products such as Optical Fibre, Fibre Cables, and advanced connectivity solutions.

Strategic Outlook: Enhancing Shareholder and Customer Value

Commenting on the successful demerger, Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director at STL, said:

"The completion of this demerger marks a pivotal moment in our strategic roadmap. This transition empowers STL and STL Networks to operate with greater focus, agility, and independence, creating exceptional value for all stakeholders. STL remains committed to pioneering optical solutions and driving customer-centricity, while STL Networks is now uniquely positioned to redefine global services with agility. This new structure will drive sustained growth, operational efficiency, and shareholder returns for both entities."
