Karimnagar (Telangana), Feb 4 (PTI) – A tragic road accident in Jagtial district claimed the lives of a woman sub-inspector and a bank employee on Tuesday morning, police reported.
The deceased officer, Sub-Inspector Kokkula Shwetha (30), was returning to Jagtial from her native village, Arnakonda, when her vehicle met with a fatal crash. The accident occurred around 8:30 AM on the outskirts of Chilvakodur village, under Gollapalli police limits.
According to officials, Shwetha's car collided with a motorcycle before veering off the road and crashing into a roadside tree. She was a 2020 Civil SI batch officer serving in the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB) at Jagtial. She died on the spot due to the impact.
The motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Naresh, a bank employee from Luxettipet in Mancherial district, also succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Following the accident, authorities shifted both bodies to the Government Headquarters Hospital in Jagtial for post-mortem examinations.
A police investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact cause of the collision.
