Jammu, May 10 — A massive search operation was launched in Jammu's high-security Nagrota area on Saturday evening after an army sentry opened fire in response to suspicious movement near a military camp.
According to official sources, the incident occurred when two individuals were spotted moving suspiciously near the perimeter of the camp. The alert army trooper on duty issued a warning for them to halt. However, the individuals ignored the warning, prompting the soldier to open fire.
Following the gunfire, the suspects fled the scene, triggering a large-scale search operation aimed at securing the area and tracing the individuals involved.
The identity and intentions of the duo remain unknown as security forces continue combing operations late into the night to ensure the safety of the sensitive zone.
Authorities have heightened vigilance in the area, which is known for its strategic military importance, amid ongoing national security concerns.
