Devotees Across India Join in Online Meditation and Traditional Ceremonies
Ranchi, May 10 — The 170th birth anniversary of Swami Sri Yukteswar, the revered spiritual teacher and author of The Holy Science, was celebrated with great devotion and reverence at Yogoda Ashram in Ranchi on Saturday.The day began with a special online commemorative group meditation led by Swami Gokulananda Giri, which saw participation from devotees across the country. According to a statement from the Ashram, the virtual gathering reflected the deep spiritual bond shared by followers of the Yogoda Satsanga tradition.
The celebrations continued with soulful bhajans rendered by Brahmachari Satsangananda and fellow sannyasis, creating a serene atmosphere at the ashram. A Guru Puja was also performed in honor of Swami Sri Yukteswar, the spiritual guide of Paramahansa Yogananda, who later introduced millions around the world to yoga and meditation through his iconic work Autobiography of a Yogi.
Yogananda's teachings have inspired many notable personalities, including Steve Jobs, Ravi Shastri, and Rajnikanth, highlighting the enduring global impact of Swami Sri Yukteswar’s spiritual lineage.
The event concluded with a sankirtan, followed by the distribution of prasad to devotees and sannyasis present at the ashram.
The Yogoda Satsanga Society continues to honor the life and teachings of Swami Sri Yukteswar, whose legacy of spiritual wisdom remains deeply embedded in the hearts of countless seekers.
