Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin Congratulates Ilaiyaraaja for Symphony Debut in London

Chennai, March 2, 2025 – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin paid a visit to legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja on Sunday, extending his warm congratulations for the iconic composer's upcoming performance of Debut-Symphony Number-1: Valiant in London on March 8, 2025.

During their meeting, Stalin lauded Ilaiyaraaja as the "music breath" of the Tamil people worldwide, highlighting the significance of the event. He described the symphony debut as a monumental achievement, noting that such a performance had never been attempted before by any artist in Asia. Stalin expressed his admiration for Ilaiyaraaja's contribution to music and noted that the composer had also shared the symphony’s music notes with him.

In a social media post, Stalin also shared a videoclip of a protest by Tamils living in the United States, who are opposing the alleged imposition of a "third language" on Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister expressed his solidarity with the protesters, tagging the video with the message "Tamizh Vazhga" (Long live Tamil).

Stalin also took the opportunity to thank well-wishers on the occasion of his birthday on March 1, 2025. In his message, he expressed gratitude to political leaders, DMK supporters, and the general public, reiterating his commitment to making Tamil Nadu the number one state in India while safeguarding the Tamil language.

The meeting between the Chief Minister and Ilaiyaraaja highlighted the deep cultural ties and pride in Tamil heritage, further elevating the significance of the composer’s upcoming London performance.
