Eaton Electric's New Facility Promises 500 Jobs and Advanced R&D in Sholinganallur

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday laid the foundation stone for Eaton Electric India Private Limited’s state-of-the-art manufacturing and research and development (R&D) centre in Chennai. The facility, situated at Sholinganallur, comes with an investment of ₹200 crore and is expected to create approximately 500 new job opportunities in the region.

Rapid Conversion from MoU to Reality

The foundation stone ceremony took place via video conferencing from the secretariat, with key government officials and representatives from Eaton Electric India attending the event. This significant investment follows swiftly after the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Eaton Electric and the Tamil Nadu government during Chief Minister Stalin’s official visit to the United States in September 2024.

Industries Minister TRB Rajaa highlighted the government’s proactive approach in a statement on social media platform 'X', saying, "Yet another MoU signed by Honourable Chief Minister Thiru M K Stalin during his US trip turns into reality! For this government, grounding MoUs is priority, not just signing them—and we ground at massive speed!"

Advanced Facility to Boost Tamil Nadu’s Industrial Ecosystem

Eaton Electric’s upcoming facility at Sholinganallur will span approximately 1 lakh square feet, housing advanced manufacturing operations, cutting-edge research and development labs, and an interactive experience center. The new center will specialize in Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds and B-Line products, positioning Chennai as a pivotal location for intelligent power management solutions.

Minister Rajaa also emphasized that such strategic investments underscore Tamil Nadu’s role as India’s premier destination for advanced manufacturing, innovation, and research and development. He added, "This facility reinforces Tamil Nadu’s position as India’s top destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation. With investments like these, Tamil Nadu continues to attract the best global players, creating #JobsForTN and solidifying our place as a global R&D and manufacturing hub."

The timely completion of this facility further demonstrates the efficiency and business-friendly environment fostered by the Tamil Nadu government under Chief Minister M K Stalin's leadership.
