New Delhi, Jan 3 (PTI) – As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has slammed the AAP-led government, declaring that its model has "failed." Naidu urged voters to choose a party capable of ensuring inclusive growth and progress for the city.
In a press conference held on Monday, Naidu expressed his concerns about the situation in Delhi, stating that people were increasingly worried about their lives in the capital due to "weather and political pollution." He criticized the lack of development in the city, highlighting that the government's policies had not led to any significant improvements.
"Politicians must focus not just on today, but on tomorrow and the future," Naidu remarked. "A government with sound public policy can bring about societal transformation."
The TDP leader took aim at the AAP government, describing it as a "half-engine sarkar" and argued that Delhi needed a "double-engine sarkar" to drive its development forward. He further emphasized that, in the current climate, performance and improved living standards were far more important than ideology.
Naidu also pointed out the plight of the poor in Delhi, urging them to consider whether they wanted to remain in slums. "Poor people in Delhi have to think if they want to live permanently in slums," he said, underscoring the need for substantial change.
In addition to his political comments, Naidu expressed support for the 2025 Budget, which aims to achieve the goal of "Viksit Bharat" by 2047. "We are in agreement with them. We are happy. It aligns with our 10 principles of growth," he noted, affirming his party's backing.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 5, with results set to be declared on February 8.
