Victim Found with Throat Slit, Five Including Minor Held in Gruesome Crime
New Delhi, May 15 — An 18-year-old boy was brutally murdered in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area after he intervened in a romantic dispute involving his friend and a girl. The deceased, Md Saad, was found with his throat slit near a drain in Nizamuddin West on May 12, police said Thursday.According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Ravi Singh, Saad was allegedly killed for trying to mediate between his friend Azeem and a girl named Zara, the sister of the main accused, Altamash.
Details of the Incident
The shocking crime came to light around 8:30 p.m. on May 12 when police received a PCR call about a body lying near a drain. On arrival, police found Saad's body bearing a deep neck wound, indicative of a deliberate and violent attack.Investigations revealed that Saad had tried to convince Altamash to allow his sister to continue her relationship with Azeem. Altamash, a battery repair worker aged 18, was infuriated by Saad’s repeated involvement and saw it as interference in his family affairs.
The Accused and Arrests
Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder:- Altamash (18): The main accused who used a sharp weapon to slit Saad’s throat
- Faizan (22): A rickshaw driver and known history-sheeter from Kot Mohalla
- Dilshad (18) and Abrar (18): Accomplices in the crime
- A 17-year-old boy has also been detained under the Juvenile Justice Act
Background and Motive
Saad, who had prior involvement in two criminal cases, was reportedly close friends with Azeem. His efforts to mediate between Azeem and Zara allegedly triggered the deadly conspiracy.“Altamash viewed Saad’s actions as unwanted meddling and decided to eliminate him. He conspired with his associates to carry out the murder,” said DCP Singh.
