126 Telangana Residents Repatriated from Border States Following India-Pakistan Conflict
Hyderabad, May 12—In light of the ongoing national developments, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at the Raj Bhavan on Monday to provide an update on the state's situation. According to official sources, the meeting was held against the "backdrop of the present circumstances in the country," though specific details were not disclosed.State Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu also attended the meeting.
The high-level interaction comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, which prompted the Telangana government to take swift measures to support its citizens residing in vulnerable areas.
On Sunday, the state government reported that 126 individuals from Telangana, who had been living in various border states, had arrived in New Delhi seeking safety. In response to the crisis, the Telangana government had earlier announced the setup of a 24x7 control room at Telangana Bhavan in the national capital on May 9. The facility aims to offer affected residents real-time support, information, and assistance.
Out of the 126 evacuated, 57 have already returned to their hometowns with help from the state administration. The remaining individuals are currently being provided shelter and support at Telangana Bhavan.
The meeting between the Chief Minister and the Governor underscores the government’s proactive efforts in addressing the fallout of the national security situation and ensuring the welfare of its citizens.
