The commission, led by retired High Court judge Justice Shameem Akther, presented its findings and recommendations to the sub-committee chaired by Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday.
Taking to social media platform ‘X,’ Minister Reddy stated, "The cabinet sub-committee will make recommendations based on Justice Shameem Akther's report. The Cabinet will meet tomorrow to take a final decision on SC categorisation."
The judicial commission was formed following the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of SC categorisation last year. The Telangana government initiated the panel to devise strategies for its implementation. With the report now in the cabinet’s hands, a conclusive decision on the categorisation is expected soon.
