State attracts Rs 3 lakh crore in investments since December 2023, says CM Revanth Reddy
On Monday, May 12, Hyderabad, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asserted that the state leads the nation in attracting investments, managing inflation, maintaining law and order, and generating employment across sectors.Speaking at the inauguration of Sonata Software’s new facility in Hyderabad, Reddy announced that Telangana has secured nearly Rs 3 lakh crore in investments since his government took office in December 2023.
“We are the number one state in India in investments – domestic and international,” Reddy declared, citing the state’s dominance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Telangana topped investment charts with commitments worth Rs 1.78 lakh crore.
Hyderabad Emerges as Tech and Life Sciences Hub
The Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a Global Capability Centre (GCC) hub for the software and life sciences sectors. The city also positions itself as a leading destination for AI-ready data centres, advanced manufacturing, and biotech innovation.Major IT firms, including Microsoft, Cognizant, HCL Technologies, Infosys, and Wipro, are expanding their campuses in Hyderabad, further solidifying its status as a preferred destination for global tech giants.
Job Creation and Entrepreneur Empowerment
Reddy noted that since December 2023, Telangana has generated over one lakh jobs in the private sector. He also underlined the state's leadership in law and order, inflation control, tax collections, and employment creation, referencing reports by the Government of India.The state government is actively empowering 66 lakh women through one of the country’s largest entrepreneur funding and mentoring programmes, run via Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Additionally, the newly launched ‘Rajiv Yuva Vikasam’ aims to promote self-employment by financially supporting young entrepreneurs across various sectors.
Vision 2030: Future City, Skill Universities, and Global Events
The Chief Minister laid out an ambitious roadmap for Telangana under the ‘Telangana Rising’ banner, which seeks a balance between growth, infrastructure, investment, and inclusive welfare.Key initiatives include:
- Development of ‘Future City’, which he described as India’s most planned urban project
- Establishment of Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University
- Launch of Young India Integrated residential schools for social welfare
He also pointed out Hyderabad's rising global profile, noting that the city currently hosts the Miss World contest and will continue to welcome high-profile international events.
Collaborating for a USD 1 Trillion Economy
In concluding remarks, Reddy called upon companies like Sonata Software to partner in the state’s ambitious goal of making Telangana a USD 1 trillion economy and transforming Hyderabad into the world’s most amazing city.“Our vision is a blend of economic growth, job creation, infrastructure development, and social welfare — that is Telangana Rising,” Reddy emphasized.
