Thane, May 10 – Amid escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border following Operation Sindoor, the Thane district administration has issued an urgent appeal to social organisations, vocational training institutions, and ex-servicemen’s associations to provide detailed information on available manpower and resources to enhance emergency preparedness.

The administration emphasized the critical need for a unified response mechanism and has directed that all relevant information be submitted within the next three days. Rural organisations must report to the respective tehsildars, while those within municipal limits should contact the deputy commissioner (Headquarters) of the concerned municipal corporation.

"This information will be beneficial for making the emergency management in the district more efficient and for providing immediate help in any necessary situation," a spokesperson said.

Coordination of Volunteers, Skills, and Resources

The initiative aims to consolidate the district’s civilian resource network by integrating volunteers, skilled professionals, and the disciplined expertise of ex-servicemen.

For Social Organisations:

Groups are requested to submit:
  • The number of active members
  • Details of any special skills such as first aid, search and rescue, or counselling
  • Inventory of available equipment like vehicles, medical kits, and communication tools

For Training Institutions:

These bodies should furnish:
  • Number of trained individuals in specific fields
  • Details of training materials and resources currently held

For Ex-Servicemen Associations:

They are expected to provide:
  • Member strength
  • Skill profiles highlighting emergency response and leadership experience

The administration's appeal is part of a proactive strategy to ensure rapid and coordinated response capabilities should the need arise due to the ongoing conflict.
