Three Arrested in Bulandshahr Gang-Rape Case, Two Injured in Police Encounter​

Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, May 10 — Police arrested three men on Saturday in connection with a horrific gang-rape incident that occurred earlier this week in the Khurja Police Station area of Bulandshahr district.

The crime came to light after a woman filed a complaint alleging she was gang-raped in a moving vehicle on Tuesday. A joint police operation intercepted the suspects near the Bulandshahr-Aligarh highway in the Arnia area around 2:30 pm on Saturday. During an exchange of fire, two of the accused suffered bullet injuries to their legs, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Dr. Tejveer Singh.

Accused Identified, Firearms Recovered​

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sandeep, Gaurav, and Amit. Sandeep and Amit are from Gautam Buddha Nagar, while Gaurav hails from Ghaziabad. Illegal firearms, ammunition, and the vehicle allegedly used in the crime were recovered from their possession.

Sandeep and Gaurav, the ones injured in the encounter, are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Details of the Crime​

Providing further details, Dr. Singh stated that the accused had picked up two women from the Surajpur Police Station area of Gautam Buddha Nagar on Tuesday evening and forced them into their car.

Tragically, one of the women was later pushed from the moving vehicle in the Jani Police Station area of Meerut, resulting in fatal injuries. She succumbed soon after. The surviving victim was gang-raped inside the moving vehicle, according to police.

FIR Registered Under BNS​

Following the complaint from the surviving woman, an FIR was registered on Wednesday at the Khurja Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected as the case unfolds.

This incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns over women's safety across the region.
