February 4, 2025 – Two security personnel were injured in a blast triggered by an improvised explosive device (IED), while a third jawan sustained injuries from a spike trap during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Tuesday, according to police sources.
The incidents took place in a dense forest area along the border of Bijapur and Dantewada districts, where a joint team of security forces was conducting an operation against Naxal militants. The operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
According to a senior police official, the two injured jawans accidentally triggered the pressure-activated IED while on patrol, leading to the explosion. Meanwhile, a third member of the security forces stepped onto a spike trap planted by Naxalites in the area.
The injured personnel received immediate first aid and were airlifted to Raipur for further medical treatment, the official confirmed.
The operation remains ongoing as security forces continue to engage in efforts to neutralize Naxal activities in the region.
