New Delhi, May 14 – Tom Cruise's much-anticipated action spectacle Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning has already ignited massive enthusiasm among Indian moviegoers, racking up over 45,000 advance ticket sales across major cinema chains — PVR Inox and Cinépolis — ahead of its May 17 release.

The film, the eighth installment in the globally celebrated Mission: Impossible franchise, opened for advance booking on Monday. Within just 24 hours, it recorded over 11,000 tickets sold, signaling strong fan anticipation and reaffirming Tom Cruise’s enduring box office appeal.

According to an official press release, the early sales figures underscore the franchise’s loyal following and the growing momentum leading up to its nationwide theatrical debut.

India's Appetite for High-Octane Blockbusters

PVR-INOX Limited's Chief Business Planning and Strategy Officer, Kamal Gianchandani, expressed optimism about the film’s reception.

“We’re witnessing an extraordinary response. The first 24 hours saw great momentum, reflecting India’s appetite of celebrating cinema at scale. Tom Cruise continues to be a massive box-office draw. This film, with its scale, spectacle, and legacy, has reignited excitement across our properties nationwide,” Gianchandani said.
Echoing the sentiment, Cinepolis India’s Managing Director, Devang Sampat, highlighted the unprecedented buzz surrounding this Hollywood release.

“We haven’t seen this level of anticipation for a Hollywood release in quite some time. Tom Cruise and the franchise carry a legacy that clearly resonates with Indian audiences. Everyone’s looking forward to experiencing this action-packed spectacle on the big screen of Cinépolis cinemas,” Sampat added.

In Final Reckoning, Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, the relentless spy adored by fans across the globe. The film will release in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, broadening its appeal across regional markets in India.

The film also features an ensemble cast including Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O’Brian, and Tramell Tillman.
