Mumbai, May 10 – The All India Chess Masters Mumbai FIDE Masters Classical tournament kicked off on a high note as top-seeded contenders dominated the opening round held on Saturday. Leading the charge were Daksh Jagesia and Yash Kapadi, both of whom secured convincing victories on their respective boards.
Playing black on the top board, Daksh Jagesia outclassed Mayan Jha to register a 1-0 win. Meanwhile, Yash Kapadi, wielding the white pieces on board two, comfortably defeated Sandeep Arth.
Several other players also made strong starts to the tournament. Darsh Shetty, Om Gada, Jahavi Soneji, Abhishek Patil, Sidharth Kumar, Swaminathan Vageesh, and Mayuresh Parkar each registered wins in their respective matches.
