Incident Occurred at an Illegal Chemical Factory in Beawar District
A deadly gas leak from a chemical tanker parked at an illegally operated factory has claimed the lives of three people and sickened more than 50 others in Rajasthan’s Beawar district, according to official reports.District Collector Mahendra Khadgawat confirmed that the incident took place late Monday night in the residential locality of Badiya, where nitric acid leaked from a tanker. The leakage resulted in widespread illness among residents, prompting immediate emergency response measures.
Factory Owner Among Deceased
The gas leak tragically led to the death of the factory owner, Sunil Singhal (47), who passed away on Monday night. Two other victims, Dayaram (52) and Narendra Solanki, succumbed on Tuesday after inhaling the toxic fumes.Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh reported that numerous residents in the surrounding area experienced severe symptoms, including breathing difficulties, chest heaviness, and vomiting. More than 50 individuals were admitted to various hospitals across the district for urgent medical treatment.

As a precautionary measure, authorities have evacuated residents from areas surrounding the chemical factory to prevent further health risks.Collector Khadgawat has directed the formation of a dedicated committee comprising officials from Nagar Parishad, revenue authorities, and police departments. The committee's task will be to identify and survey all factories operating without proper permits in the district to avoid future accidents and ensure community safety.
The situation was reportedly controlled promptly, preventing even more severe consequences. However, the tragic event has sparked serious concerns regarding unauthorized industrial activities within residential areas.
