Baripada, February 12 At least three people died and five others were injured after a tractor fell into a river in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Thursday evening, police said.
The accident occurred near the Murgasahi village, which falls under the Karanjia block of the district.
Eight people were on board the tractor when it was returning from the Jhumukakudar village, and this is when the accident happened.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, and it fell into the Deo River, according to Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nabakrushna Nayak.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
The injured were taken to the Karanjia government hospital, he added.
