Speeding Truck Ploughs Into Crowd Assisting Jeep Crash Victims in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 18 – A tragic turn of events unfolded late Saturday night in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district when a speeding truck lost control and rammed into a group of people assisting victims of a prior road accident. The incident claimed four lives and left eight others injured.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near the Pindawal Hilawadi bus stand under Sabla police station limits. According to Sabla Station House Officer (SHO) Raghuveer Singh, a jeep carrying a family returning from a wedding had veered off the road, resulting in minor injuries to several passengers.

Locals quickly gathered at the scene and began helping the injured into an ambulance. However, during the rescue efforts, a truck speeding through the area lost control. The vehicle first collided with an electricity pole before crashing into the gathered crowd.

"Three motorcycles were crushed under the truck, and the impact was devastating," SHO Singh reported.

All the injured were rushed to a hospital in Sagwara, where four individuals were declared dead. The victims, identified as Luvji Patidar, Dayalal Patidar, Savita Patidar, and Bhavesh Patidar, were returning from the same wedding ceremony and had stopped to offer help.

Authorities have registered the case, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances and liability behind the truck’s loss of control.
