12-Year-Old Boy and His Sister Die in Pond Accident in Babrahi Village
SULTANPUR, UP — In a heartbreaking incident on Thursday, a 12-year-old boy and his 15-year-old sister drowned in a pond in Babrahi village, located in the Motigarpur area of Sultanpur district.According to police, the tragic event unfolded when the younger sibling, Adarsh Yadav, leapt into the pond near their home, believing that a cow was drowning. However, Adarsh himself began to struggle in the water. His elder sister, Vinita Yadav, acted quickly and jumped in to save him, but unfortunately drowned as well.
Station House Officer Vijay Singh confirmed the details of the incident. Upon receiving the distress call, he and Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jaisinghpur Shiv Prasad visited the site and met with the grieving family.
The bodies of the siblings were retrieved and sent for post-mortem. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
The sudden loss of the two young lives has plunged the local community into mourning.
