Tragic Accident Claims Four Lives in West Bengal's Murshidabad District

Kolkata, April 2 — A tragic accident in West Bengal's Murshidabad district claimed the lives of four family members, including a two-year-old boy, when their two-wheeler was struck by a dumper truck. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Samsherganj area, as the family was traveling from Dak Bungalow More to Farakka.

Fatal Collision in Murshidabad District​

According to local police, the dumper truck collided with the two-wheeler from behind, running over all four occupants. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the victims were declared dead upon arrival.

The victims were identified as Ezaz Sheikh, Tauhik Sheikh, Zahul Sheikh, and two-year-old Asif Sheikh, all residents of Mahadebnagar village in the Farakka police station area.

Public Outrage and Road Blockade​

The devastating news sparked anger among locals. An irate mob gathered at the site of the accident, blocking the road for over an hour. In their protest, the mob damaged the dumper truck and several other vehicles that were stranded due to the incident.

However, the situation was eventually brought under control by a strong police contingent, who ensured that order was restored in the area.

Arrest of Dumper Truck Driver​

In the aftermath of the incident, the driver of the dumper truck was arrested by the police. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the cause of the crash.
