In a heartbreaking incident reported from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening, a 10-year-old mentally challenged boy allegedly killed his one-year-old sister by striking her with bricks and sticks, police confirmed on Friday.
According to authorities, the incident came to light around 7 pm on Thursday when Ramanand Mishra, the grandfather of the two children, approached Ramgaon police station. Mishra, a resident of Rehua Mansoor village, reported that while playing inside their home, his mentally challenged grandson severely injured his younger sister.
Mishra told the police that the boy struck the infant on her face with a stick and a piece of brick, leading to her immediate death at the scene.
Circle Officer DK Srivastava informed the media that a case has been registered under relevant sections at the Ramgaon police station. The infant's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Police officials are currently investigating the incident further.
