Tragic Incident in Dadar: 20-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Ends Life

Mumbai, April 2, 2025 — A 20-year-old woman, identified as Zana Sethia, reportedly took her own life by jumping off a 14-storey building in Dadar’s Hindu Colony on Tuesday evening, authorities confirmed.

Incident Details

Sethia, a third-year Bachelor of Commerce (B Com) student, lived with her parents on the eighth floor of the Techno Heights building. On the evening of April 1, she was accompanied by two close friends, who often visited her. The trio went up to the building's terrace, where Sethia suddenly jumped before her friends could react.

Despite the immediate response from emergency services, Sethia was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Investigation and Findings

While no suicide note was discovered at the scene, the police did recover a diary belonging to Sethia that contained hints suggesting she may have been struggling with suicidal thoughts.

According to her friends, Sethia had been battling depression, reportedly stemming from a failed romantic relationship. Authorities have since registered an accidental death report at the Matunga police station, and an investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

This case highlights the growing concerns about mental health among young individuals, especially in the wake of personal setbacks such as failed relationships.
