Mahrajganj, Uttar Pradesh | March 4, 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three girl students and injured 12 others after an SUV suffered a tyre burst on the Dhani-Fharenda highway in Mahrajganj district on Tuesday morning, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Chadni Patel (15), Gaytri Gaur (17), and Priti (16). All three victims belonged to the villages of Samardeera, Bishunpur, and Karmaha in Mahrajganj.
According to local police, the accident occurred when 14 students from Mahesh Ram Ashok Kumar Girls Inter College, Dhani, were on their way to appear for their board exams. The sudden tyre burst caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in the fatal accident.
Twelve students sustained injuries, with six reported to be in critical condition. All injured students were immediately rescued and taken to Dhani Primary Health Centre (PHC) for emergency treatment.
Navneet Nagar, the outpost in-charge at Dhani, said, "The driver's condition is also critical, and he is currently receiving medical attention."
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
